Pinellas Fire & EMS Training Facility

Three buildings make up this fire fighter training facility.  The two-story "Burn Building" is a concrete and masonry structure with thermal structure protection.  Live fires burn inside this building on a daily basis for simulation and training; the second floor is a "smoke room" with zero visibility.  A seven story concrete and masonry training tower, each floor equipped with smoke generators for zero visibility, is used to train firefighters to work in elevator shafts and stairwells.  The third building is a pre-engineered metal building for apparatus storage.
